The Society of Brief Strategic hypnoTherapists is an independent professional body representing clinical hypnotherapists and other brief therapists in active practice.

Democratically run by practising therapists, the Society is a non-profit making organisation dedicated to upholding the highest standards of ethical practice. The Society has rigorous criteria for the regulation and continuous professional development of its members.

All our members are fully insured and bound by our code of conduct and ethics.

The Aims Of The Society of Brief Strategic hypnoTherapists

1. Maintain a national register of practitioners.
2. Establish a code of conduct and ethics for its members.  Act as a regulatory body for its members and identify and promote appropriate ethical standards of practice.
3. Provide its members with a professional body to act on their behalf and in their interests.
4. Provide its members with ongoing professional advice and support in regard to treatment offered.
5. Keep its members fully informed of new developments and training in all fields associated with brief strategic hypnotherapy.
6. Liaise with other professional organisations whose aim is to further the ethical standards and practices of brief strategic hypnotherapists.
7. Provide networking opportunities for therapists working in similar professions and promote research in the field of clinical hypnosis and other brief therapies.
8. Issue membership certificates and ensure that each member has professional liability insurance.
